TIM JOYCE
Vice President / Producer
Sound Venture Productions
Tim Joyce's career with Sound Venture Productions began in 1982 as an Assistant Audio Producer/Engineer, and later as Chief Sound Designer and Audio Producer. Tim honed his sound design skills and produced many award-winning radio commercials for Ottawa's local market as well as national public service radio campaigns.
In 1989, with a growing list of clients, Sound Venture expanded their framework and became Ottawa's first full-service audio and video post-production facility. Along with this development, a new partnership was created, and Tim became one-third owner of Sound Venture Productions along with Neil Bregman and Katherine Jeans.
As Sound Venture began producing and developing its own television programs, Tim acquired an impressive run of broadcast credits in sound design. The pinnacle of this leg of his career came in 1996, when Tim won a coveted GEMINI Award for Best Sound for "Angels of Mercy", Sound Venture's documentary on Canada's nursing sisters, produced for Global Television Network.
A career shift to producer for corporate and government clients, was a natural step. Over the years, Tim amassed a long and impressive list of clientele, and considerably increased the volume of Sound Venture's portfolio. Drawing on his background in sound design, Tim supervised the post-production work on a number of broadcast animation series, including Lynn Johnston's television version of her famous comic strip, "For Better or For Worse".
2004 began with Tim's successful bid at winning the prestigious Canadian War Museum contract for Sound Venture - to produce all the audio and video exhibition components for the new museum. Then in the fall of 2004, Tim piloted Sound Venture to yet another successful tenure on the PWGSC Standing Offer.
It is Tim's wealth of experience and solid reputation - along with that of his production team - that has firmly established Sound Venture as a leader in the field of corporate and government production. From concept to completion, Tim has delivered results that have kept his clients coming back again and again.
